Florida DEC Alliance
The Florida Alliance for Drug Endangered Children was formed in October 2005 to promote the DEC team concept and public awareness of the problems faced by Drug Endangered Children. The Alliance is comprised of agency representatives working together to encourage the creation of local DEC teams, organize multidisciplinary DEC training, and provide referrals to experts, updated research on topics concerning drug endangered children, and best practice information.
The Attorney General’s office is also working with the Multijurisdictional Counderdrug Task Force Training Program (MCTFT), a member of the Florida DEC Alliance, to provide training for communities interested in starting or expanding DEC programs. MCTFT is a federally funded partnership between the Florida National Guard and St. Petersburg College.
Florida DEC Alliance agency representatives include: the Attorney General’s Office, the Governor’s Office of Drug Control, the Department of Law Enforcement, the Department of Children & Families, the Department of Health, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
